Workshop on making traditional Chhath material



Seven day workshop on traditional ritual materials of Chhath called ‘Chhath bad’ is going on presently at Indira Gandhi Rashtirya Manav Sangrahalaya. It had started on October 28 and will end on November 3, 2009. Artists are displaying making of Chhath materials like bangles from lac, production of terracotta material from mud, baskets from bamboos etc.. in the workshop. To add attraction yesterday Major Tiwari famous Bhojpuri artist sang in the evening at the museum. (In picture Lalu Pandit from Darbangha district of Bihar working on potter wheel for producing terracotta elephant on potter wheel, Bangles from Lac on sale and Madhubani artists pianting at the workshop)
